St. Peter's has been accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA).
According to CEO Donna Cripps, Accreditation 2005 was "unique and rewarding." For the first time ever, St. Peter's Family of Services was surveyed as one organization.
Accreditation teams were comprised of staff members from St. Peter's Hospital and St. Peter's Residence at Chedoke. While these staff provide different levels of care across St. Peter's continuum, they were able to collectively demonstrate the top-notch care and service that is delivered to patients and residents on a daily basis. In addition, the surveyors met with focus groups comprised of patients, residents, St. Peter's health care partners, and individuals from the community.
St. Peter's was pleased to participate in this external peer review process and looks forward to building on its strengths and moving ahead with continuous quality improvement initiatives.
